ಗೋವಿಂದರಾಜನಗರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಚುನಾವಣೆ...

ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ನಡೆದ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋವಿಂದರಾಜನಗರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಬಹಳ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದಿತ್ತು... ಕಾರಣ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳು... ಜನತಾ ದಳದಿಂದ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಗೆ, ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಇಂದ ಬಿ.ಜೆ.ಪಿ ಗೆ ಪಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೂ ಸೋಲಿಲ್ಲದ ಸರದಾರನೆಂದೇ ಖ್ಯಾತರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಮತ್ತು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಕೃಷ್ಣ... ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಮುಗಿದ ನಂತರ ಇದೇ ಗೋವಿಂದರಾಜನಗರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ, ಒಂದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ಅಂಗಡಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಕುಳಿತು ಟೀ ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ನಮ್ಮ ಬೋರಣ್ಣನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ ಪುಟ್ಟಣ್ಣ ಕೇಳಿದ...

ಪುಟ್ಟಣ್ಣ : "ಇದೇನು ಬೋರಣ್ಣ, ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತಿದ್ದೀಯ ?... ಏನ್ ಸಮಚಾರ ?"

ಬೋರಣ್ಣ : "ಇನ್ನೇನ್ಲಾ ಇದ್ದಾತು... ಚುನಾವಣೆ ರಿಸಲ್ಟ್ ಬಂತಲ್ಲಾ.... ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಹೋಗ್ಬುಟ್ಟಾ "

ಪು : "ಹೂಂ ಕಣಣ್ಣಾ... ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಭಾರೀ ಮುಖಭಂಗ ಆಯಿತು... ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಗೆದ್ದೇ ಗೆಲ್ತಾನೇ ಅಂತ ಅನ್ಕಂಡ್ರೆ ಇಂಗಾತಲ್ಲಾ..."

ಬೋ : "ಲೇ... ಗೆದ್ದಿರೋನು ಏನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯದೋನು ಅನ್ಕಂಡ್ಯಾ... ವಿಜಯನಗರದ MLA ಕೃಷ್ಣಪ್ಪನ ಮಗ ಕಣ್ಲಾ..."

ಪು : "ಹೂಂ.. ಪಾಪ....ಏನು ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇರೋ ಆ ಎಳೇ ಹುಡುಗನ್ನ ಎಳ್ಕೋಂಡ್ ಬಂದು ಸೋಮಣ್ಣನ ಸೋಲಿಸಿದ್ರಲ್ಲಾ.."

ಬೋ : "ಲೇ... ಏನ್ ತಿಳ್ಕಂಡೆ ?... ಸೋಮಣ್ಣನ ಸೋಲಿಸಿದ್ದು ಆ ಎಳಿ ಹುಡುಗ ಅಲ್ಲಾ... ಆ ಮುದಿ ವಯ್ಯ "

ಪು : "ಯಾರಣ್ಣಾ ಅದು ? "

ಬೋ : "ಅದೇ... ಆ ಅಪ್ಪ ಮಗಾ..."

ಪು : "ಹಾಂ.... ಗೌಡ್ರಾ ? .... ನಿಂಗೆಂಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತು ? "

ಬೊ : "ಇಲ್ಲ್ ಹೇಳ್ತೀನಿ ಕೇಳು... ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಅಲ್ವಾ ? ... ಭಾನುವಾರ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ವಾಸ್ ಅಂದ್ರೆ ಪ್ರಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊನೇ ದಿನ. ನಾನು ಹಿಂಗೆ ಪಕ್ಕದ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಯ್ತಾ ಇದ್ನಾ... ಅಲ್ಲ್ ನೋಡ್ತೀನಿ... ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ನೋರು ಹಾಗು ಜನತಾ ದಳದವರು ಸೇರ್ಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಚಾರ ಮಾಡ್ತಾವ್ರೆ...ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜನತಾದಳದ ಬಾವುಟ... ಕುತ್ತಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಬಾವುಟ... ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಕ್ಕಲಿಗರೂ ಕೃಷ್ಣಪ್ಪನ್ ಮಗಂಗೆ ಓಟ್ ಹಾಕಾವ್ರೆ..."

ಪು : "ಹೌದಾ.... ಹಂಗಾದ್ರೆ, ಜಾತಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡೈತೆ ? "

ಬೋ : "ಹೂಂ ಮತ್ತೇ... ನಾನು ಹಿಂಗೆ ನಿಂತ್ತಿದ್ದನಾ... ಒಬ್ಬ ಮೇಷ್ಟರು ಬಂದು, "ಬೋರಣ್ಣ... ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಾಗೆ ಲಿಂಗಾಯಿತರ ಪವರ್ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಆಗೈತೆ. ನೀನು ವಕ್ಕಲಿಗ. ವಕ್ಕಲಿಗರು ವಕ್ಕಲಿಗರಿಗೇ ಓಟ್ ಹಾಕಬೇಕು.. ಆಗ್ಲೇ ವಕ್ಕಲಿಗರ ಪವರ್ ಜಾಸ್ತಿಯಾಗೋದು" ಅಂದರು ಕಣ್ಲಾ. ಮೇಷ್ಟರಾಗಿ ಈ ವಯ್ಯ ಇಂಥಾ ಮಾತಾಡ್ತಾನಲ್ಲಾ ಅಂತ ಅನ್ಕ್ಂಡೆ ನಾನು.."

ಪು : "ಹಾಂ... ಮೇಷ್ಟರಾಗಿ ಇಂಥಾ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡ್ತಾರಾ ? "

ಬೋ : " ಮತ್ತೇ... ಗೆದ್ದಿರೋನು ಏನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯದೋನಾ.. ಹತ್ತಿರ ಹತ್ತಿರ 750 ಕೋಟಿ ರುಪಾಯಿ ಕುಳ "

ಪು : " ಹಾಂ... " (ಪುಟ್ಟಣ್ಣ ಬಾಯಿ ಬಿಟ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹಾಗೆ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡ)

ಬೋ : "ಆ ಹುಡುಗಂಗೆ, ಆಗ್ಲೇ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಸಿದ್ದ ಆಗವಳಂತೆ. ಅದೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಡಿ.ಕೆ. ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಮಗಳಂತೆ "

ಪು : "ಹಾಂ... ಹೌದಾ ? "

ಬೋ : "ನಂಗೂ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ... ಯಾರೋ ಇಂಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡ್ತಾ ಇದ್ರು... ಆದ್ರು ಸೋಮಣ್ಣನ ಟೈಮ್ ಸರಿ ಇಲ್ಲ ಕಣ್ಲಾ.. "

ಪು : "ಯಾಕ್ ಬೋರಣ್ಣ ?"

In Search of "Nine hours to rama"...

ಎಸ್.ಎಲ್. ಭೈರಪ್ಪನವರ "ಆವರಣ" ಓದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ನನಗೆ ಭಾರತದ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ತಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡುವ ಆಸೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ಚಂದ್ರು ಕೊಟ್ಟಂತಹ ಮನೋಹರ್ ಮಳಗಾಂವಕರ್ ರವರ ಕನ್ನಡ ಅನುವಾದದ "ಅವನೊಬ್ಬನಿದ್ದ ಗೋಡ್ಸೆ" ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಓದ ತೊಡಗಿದೆ. ಆ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಂತಹ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಘಟನೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ತು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಹಂಬಲದಿಂದ ಅಂತರ್ಜಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಾಲಾಡಿಸಿದಾಗ... ಗೋಡ್ಸೆ, ಗಾಂಧಿ, ನಾರಾಯಣ ಆಪ್ಟೆ, ನೆಹ್ರು, ಜಿನ್ನ್ಹಾ, ಮೌಂಟ್ ಬ್ಯಾಟ್ಟನ್, ಎಡ್ವಿನ.. ಭಾರತ ವಿಭಜನೆ, ನಿರಾಶ್ರಿತ್ರರ ವಲಸೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ತು ಮಾಹಿತಿಗಳು ದೊರೆತವು.

ಗಾಂಧಿ ಯ ಕೊಲೆಯಾದ ನಂತರ ಆನೇಕ ಪುಸ್ತಕಗಳು, ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು, ಡಾಕ್ಯುಮೆಂಟರಿಗಳು ಬಂದಿವೆ. ಕೆಲವು ನಿಜ ಹೇಳುತ್ತವೆ, ಕೆಲವು ಸುಳ್ಳು... ಕೆಲವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ಘನ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಬಹಿಷ್ಕರಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಬಹಿಷ್ಕರಿಸಿದ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ Nelson Gidding ರವರ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಆಧಾರಿತ, Mark Robson ರವರ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ "Nine hours to rama" ವೆಂಬುದು ಒಂದು.

Seventymm.com ... Rent movies..

Just been to a fair in city and came across a company called "Seventymm.com"

The company generates revenue by renting movies. They claim that they rent movies of different languages and movies that got released on any day. Was just thinking, how does this idea work and generate money ?

People do watch movie when they get bored and find some time.. Suppose, if i am feeling bored and want to watch a movie (and if am a member of seventymm.com) then i call them to rent me a movie.

It takes almost 3-4hrs for the company guy to reach my home, due to heavy traffic (specially in a city like bangalore). I have to wait for 4hrs to watch it... and by the time i get the movie, i will get some other work.. It may happen that i may not find time to watch this movie and after 3 days have to return the same to the company person, paying the rent and not watching it..

Also, company has to provide CDs/DVDs of good quality else they may lose customers.in addition to good customer support to keep their customers happy...

Membership fee is Rs250 per month. Also, company will provide new releases after 25 days of the release.. Provided these conditions, i still feel that its better to watch movie on the big screen than going for a rent...I still can't see that this idea will generate any revenue...

Kuselan Letter to KFCC

Fearing trouble in the smooth screening of his forthcoming film ‘Kuselan’, Tamil superstar Rajnikant has sought the help of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC). In a letter dated July 27 to KFCC president Jayamala, Rajnikant has referred to the bitterness caused by his statements during the controversy over the Hogenakkal drinking water project.

In the letter written and signed by him in Kannada (above), Rajnikant said: "It has become difficult for me to digest the fact that some people are still hurt about my speech during the Hogenakkal debate. It is against my nature to hurt anybody. My only aspiration and objective was not to cause any problem to the common man. My films are watched in Karnataka not only by Tamils but also by Kannadigas and other language speakers ." He sought the cooperation of KFCC to ensure the release of Kuselan and the safety of his fans.

Its been a loooong time tat i posted an article on my blog....
had been thinking on something else..... was in a state of confusion....

Now that fog seems to be clearing, and m back on track....
something is gonna happen in my life..... (always heed the omens)

Naukri Job Fair - Bangalore 07

As usual, i was late by 20 minutes. The cab driver was waiting for me. He had to pick up one more of my colleague to the naukri job Fair, held at palace grounds on 8th dec 07 bangalore. Got into cab and explained cab driver also owner, Mr Vasu, the side effects of getting late on weekends. He seemed to forgive (hoping that he can make to the venue within 30 minutes, as the traffic was less). We picked up my colleague near iskcon. Vasu, dropped myself and my colleague, who is working as HR at the palace grounds. We both were shocked by seeing huge crowd. Separate lines were made for males and females, and also based on the industry exp they had. Our company had a stall and we (Kyocera Wireless India) were the platinum sponsers for the event.

After inaugurating the function, the crowd was let in. There were many companies who had participated, but i could fine only few companies that were looking for technical people. I was one of the panelist for the second round of tech interview, but to manage the crowd, had to do the shortlist of resumes also(which was the first round). This was a diff exp to me. There were many people from different background, and also from diff places. There were exp people, freshers (some accompanied by their parents), people who wanted to get the most of this event. I met a person there, who had a apartment near ITPL. She wanted to give that, as a guest house for foreign VIP's who come to visit their companies in India. Also met a group of enthusiastic ladies, who seem to have started a company of their own which provides software for mobile applications. I led them to my HR, and they had a serious discussion. There was huge queue, who were waiting to photocopy their resume. The photocopy person had a good business.

When the event came to an end on the first day it was about 5pm, and time for me to meet my freinds to discuss the loooooong journey for the coming christmas holidays. Yesssss a journey for 5 days in the western ghats on "BIKESssss"
